What Happens After You Enquire About a Home

What Happens After You Enquire About a Home

Buying your first home is exciting — but it can feel a bit confusing once you’ve sent that first enquiry. What happens next? Here’s a simple step-by-step guide so you know exactly what to expect.

Step 1: We’ll Get in Touch

Once we receive your enquiry, one of our team members will contact you to arrange a viewing. We’ll discuss your preferred date and time, and check the property’s availability.

In some cases, we may need to confirm the date and time directly with the homeowner before finalising your appointment. This ensures we can accommodate everyone’s schedule and give you the best possible viewing experience.

As soon as the viewing is confirmed, we’ll send you an email with all the details, including the address, meeting point, and contact information for your agent.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance. Homeowners often tidy up and prepare their space specially for your visit, so a little notice is always appreciated.

Step 2: Your Viewing Day

On the day, we’ll meet you at the property, walk you through key features, and answer any questions, from layout and finishes to local amenities. You don’t need to bring anything but your curiosity (and maybe your camera roll for ideas!).

If you’re running late or arriving early, please let us know as soon as possible. Sometimes we may already be inside the home conducting another viewing, or travelling from a previous appointment. If that’s the case, please wait outside the property and make yourself known to the agent when they arrive, we’ll be with you shortly.

Step 3: Providing Your Feedback

The day after your viewing, you’ll receive a request for feedback. Please be as honest and detailed as possible, it really helps us understand what you liked (or didn’t) about the property, and allows us to pass helpful notes on to the homeowner.

Whether it’s about the size, layout, décor, price or location, your feedback gives us valuable insight into what matters most to you. It also helps us refine future recommendations and keep you informed about similar homes coming soon.

Step 4: Making an Offer

If you loved the home and feel ready to take the next step, you can submit your offer directly through the feedback email you’ll receive after your viewing.

That form allows you to include your offer details, along with any notes or conditions, so we can pass everything on promptly to the homeowner. If you’d prefer to discuss your offer first, our team is always happy to chat it through.

We’ll help you confirm your finances, liaise with your mortgage advisor if needed, and make sure your offer is presented clearly and professionally. If you’d like a referral to a trusted mortgage advisor, please just ask, we can connect you with someone who’ll guide you through the process with ease and transparency.

Once your offer is submitted, we’ll keep you updated every step of the way and handle all communication with the seller to ensure the process runs smoothly.

If you’re still deciding or need more information, that’s absolutely fine, we’re here to answer any questions and help you feel confident about your next move.

Step 5: Stay in the Loop

We often post sneak peeks of new listings on Instagram and Facebook before they go live. Following us means you’ll see new opportunities first, so you can get in early before the rush.
